# Creating a New Account

> Set up your Research and Desire account to control your devices from anywhere in the world

## Get started in minutes

Creating your account takes just a few steps and gives you full control over your devices from any browser or mobile device.

    Visit [researchanddesire.com](https://www.researchanddesire.com) and click **Login** in the top right corner. This takes you to the dashboard at `dashboard.researchanddesire.com`.

  <Step title="Register for an account">
    On the sign-in screen, click **Register** at the bottom. Enter your email address and create a secure password.

    <Tip>
      You can also sign up using one of our social login options for faster access.

  <Step title="Confirm your email">
    After submitting the registration form, check your inbox for a confirmation
    email from `app@researchanddesire.com`. Click the link in the email to verify
    your account.

  <Step title="Complete onboarding">
    Follow the guided onboarding flow to configure the basics of your account. Once complete, you're ready to start controlling your devices.

## Troubleshooting

  <Accordion title="I didn't receive the confirmation email">
    If the confirmation email doesn't arrive within a few minutes:

    1. **Check your spam or junk folder** — Emails from `app@researchanddesire.com` may be filtered
    2. **Verify your email address** — Re-register if you may have entered a typo
    3. **Try a different email provider** — Some corporate or custom domain email servers may block or delay automated emails. If you're having trouble, try registering with a common provider (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) and then [change your email address](/dashboard/settings/account#change-your-email-address) after logging in

      If you registered with a temporary email and want to switch to your preferred address, you can update it anytime from **Profile > Private Details > Change Email**.

    Hi there, I'm going to show you how to log into our dashboard so that you can start controlling your devices from anywhere in the world.

    You can do the same process on your phone or your desktop, but today I'm using my desktop. It will show you the sign-in screen, where if you already have an account, you can enter your username, password, or any of our social login options.

    I'm going to pretend I don't have an account, so I'm going to click on register at the bottom, and here I will enter a new email address and a secure password.

    When I register or submit the form, I'll be asked to confirm my email address. And right here I see a new email from app at researchanddesire.com.

    I'll follow the link. And perfect. I'm going to be guided through our onboarding flow, where I'll be able to set up the basics of my account.
