**0:00** Today I'm going to show you in a step-by-step guide how to connect your lockbox to the internet so you can receive settings from the dashboard.

**0:08** What you're going to need is a charged lockbox and either a cell phone or a laptop. I'm going to use my cell phone today.

**0:16** So on my lockbox, I'm going to go down into settings, once it's powered on, and I'm going to find the Wi-Fi settings option.

**0:24** Clicking that—this is going to create a network called Lockbox Setup, which I can join by either scanning this QR code or just looking for the network on my device.

**0:37** I'm going to do that option. Perfect.

**0:57** I'll join that network. And just like joining a Wi-Fi network at a library or coffee shop, it'll launch a configuration portal where I can click Configure Wi-Fi.

    **1:10** And I can choose a 2.4 gigahertz network.

**1:21** In this case, it is my personal network, Treehouse 2.4G. Right, I've entered my password, and now I'm going to hit Save.

**1:34** This will send these credentials to the device, and as long as it can connect to the internet, we'll see a restart over here on the lockbox.

**1:42** Perfect. And in fact, it did connect with no restart, so that is awesome to see things worked as expected. Now, you'll also notice, underneath this Wi-Fi icon, there is a small dot.

**1:55** In the future, we'll talk about what that dot means. For now, all you care about is seeing that there are full Wi-Fi bars.

**2:02** There's no line through it. If this is the case, then you've successfully connected to Wi-Fi. In future videos, I'll show you how to pair this to the dashboard.

**2:10** But that's it for now. Thank you.
