Chaster

Chaster Integration Limitations

Understand account checks, Lockbox response delays, session synchronization, and the differences between Chaster and Dashboard voting.

Use this checklist when Chaster, Dashboard, and the Lockbox disagree. For instructions, open Setup, Voting, or the FAQ.

Check the device itself

A ready message or timer does not prove that the drawer has locked or opened. Check the intended Lockbox's screen and drawer after starting or ending a session.

Before starting

BoundaryNext step
Account checks differ; setup readiness does not confirm connectivity.Check Dashboard's Linked Account, connectivity, and the physical box. Follow Setup.
Chaster has no box picker. With several boxes, use an empty-box test to identify the one receiving the session.
Unlocked Chaster locks may still use lock slots.Review and archive completed locks you no longer need. FAQ

Status and timers

BoundaryNext step
Device and page updates can be delayed; no fixed response time is verified.Follow device prompts and check the drawer.
Countdown, end time, maximum deadline, and time zones can differ.Compare matching values. Timer FAQ
Zero alone does not release every lock.Check freezes, minimum duration, and extension requirements. Unlock FAQ
Dashboard Completed and Chaster Deserted labels have differed in a trial.Verify that both sessions ended and the drawer opens.

Check both deadlines after an error

A vote or time change can remain in Dashboard even if Chaster rejects it. Check both deadlines before retrying.

Controls

BoundaryNext step
Chaster's Lockbox card shows status; timer visibility rules still apply.Select Open lockbox page for controls.
Temporary openings require an active Chaster opening; cooldowns can block the first one.Follow the opening FAQ.
Ending an opening may require key-return and relocking confirmation.Return keys, close the drawer, and follow device prompts.
Acceptance or break return does not clear every freeze.Check Chaster's freeze status.
Pull has permission limits and can replace or end a session. It cannot fix every mismatch.Review the preview and Pull FAQ before applying.
Disconnect is blocked during active sessions and does not unlock the box.Finish the session first. Disconnect FAQ

Voting

  • New Chaster sessions start with Dashboard voting off; existing settings are unchanged.
  • Pull does not copy voting settings. Manual opt-in requires session-editing permission.
  • Settings and counts remain separate. Dashboard votes do not meet Chaster's required Share links visits.
  • The reviewed native app blocks Dashboard downvotes on Chaster sessions; web controls differ. Chaster may reject time changes.

Use Voting with Chaster to choose and configure your link.

Connection loss and emergency access

Do not rely on an outage to release keys; Chaster-controlled offline release has not been confirmed in a device test. Keep independent emergency access available.

Read the emergency unlock guide and emergency backplate guide before using keys. After emergency access, check both platforms: software cleanup can fail, and a hardware opening is not reported automatically. See the recovery FAQ.
