Before you restart

Do not restart your device during firmware updates unless support instructs you to. Interrupting an update can require manual recovery.
Restarting does not cancel active timers or clear your session settings. Your device preserves its locked/unlocked state across restarts. If you need extended battery savings instead, see Sleep Mode.

How to restart

1

Use the menu (recommended)

On the device, navigate to Settings → Restart Device, then confirm when prompted. The device will restart automatically.
You should see the device power cycle and return to the appropriate screen (lock attempt or main menu) based on its prior state.
2

Use the hard reset (for unresponsive devices)

If your device is unresponsive, press and hold the Enter/Lock button for 10 seconds. The screen will go blank and the device will reboot automatically.
After the reboot, confirm one of the following:
  • If previously locked, the device attempts to re‑engage the lock
  • If previously unlocked, the main menu appears
Use the hard reset only when the device is unresponsive. For normal restarts, use the menu option.

What to expect after a restart

  • Your lock state is preserved
  • If locked before restarting — the device automatically attempts to re‑engage the lock
  • If unlocked before restarting — you return to the main menu
  • Timers and session settings continue without reset

Troubleshooting

  • Plug into USB power for at least 10 minutes, then hold Enter/Lock for 10 seconds
  • Try a different USB‑C cable and power source
  • Ensure nothing is obstructing the latch
  • If you see a calibration prompt, follow the on‑screen steps or visit Calibration
  • This can occur after flashing firmware; complete the calibration and the device will resume normal operation
  • Learn more at Calibration
  • Reconnect to Wi‑Fi (2.4 GHz only) using the setup flow in Quick Start
