This guide walks you through starting a lock using templates you’ve created in your Chastity Lockbox dashboard.

Prerequisites

Before starting a lock, ensure:
  • You have a lockbox paired to your account (visible in Settings > Devices)
  • Your lockbox is online and connected to Wi-Fi
  • You have at least one lock template created
You can verify your device is online by checking the indicator in the top right corner of the lockbox display. A green, stable dot means you’re ready to receive settings. If the dot is yellow and blinking, your device is not ready—check the troubleshooting documentation for help.

Start a lock from a template

1

Navigate to Templates

From the dashboard home page, go to the Templates section where you’ll see your saved lock configurations.
2

Select your template

Find the template you want to use for this lock session. Each template contains your predefined lock settings.
Need to create a template first? Templates can be created in the dashboard under Chastity Lockbox > Templates.
3

Choose your lock mode

Click the Lock button on the right side of your chosen template. You’ll have two options:
  • No keyholder — Start a self-lock where you maintain control
  • Select a keyholder — Choose from your available partners to hold the key
Self-locking is a great option for testing your settings without consequences.
4

Confirm and start

Click Confirm to start the lock. Your device will automatically receive the settings.
Your lock is now active! Test the device to verify it’s locked before proceeding with your session.
0:00 In this video, I’m going to show you how to start a one-day test lock from the dashboard on your Chastity Lockbox.0:07 To start this off, we can see that I have, on my account, paired a lockbox. This is visible in Settings, Devices, and if I were to go to the home page for Chastity Lockbox, I can see that this lockbox is online.0:20 We’ll give this a second to load. Right there. You can also confirm the device is online by looking in the top right corner.0:29 So if I take a look at this box here, in the top right, we can see that not only is it fully charged, but that it is connected to Wi-Fi, and if you look below, there will be a little dot.0:38 That dot is green and stable. If it’s yellow and blinking, you are not ready to receive settings, and you should read other documentation.0:45 But if it’s green and stable, you’re good to go. Alright, coming back here to the dashboard, we’re now going to go over to templates, where in advance of this, I’ve created a tutorial lock that I’ll be demonstrating for you.1:03 If you need information on how to create these templates, please go see the templates documentation. But for now, I’m just going to show you how to lock your device.1:12 On the right, there’s this lock button, where I can choose to have either no keyholder, as in starting a self-lock, or I can choose a keyholder from my available partners.1:24 Since this is a test lock, self-locking will not have any consequences for me, so I am going to just choose to self-lock.1:31 And I will click Confirm. Alright, now on my device, I have automatically received settings, and the one-day lock has started.1:44 If I attempt to open the device, it is in fact locked. We are good to go. Time for some confetti, let’s do it.1:53 Alright, we’ll see you in the next video.
