Setting Up Wi-Fi
The Lockbox is most powerful when connected to your online dashboard at dashboard.researchanddesire.com.1
Access the Wi-Fi setup menu
Navigate to the Wi-Fi setup option on your Lockbox display.

Connect your phone to the device
Use your phone to connect to the Lockbox’s temporary network.

Configure your network
Enter your Wi-Fi credentials to connect the Lockbox to your home network.
Lock Modes
Lock (Offline Capable)
You can lock the box at any time—with or without a Wi-Fi connection—by selecting Lock from the menu. Set the duration of your lock session, and the timer begins immediately.Lock Forever (Online Only)
Lock Forever secures the device and defers all unlock decisions to your preconfigured online settings. Only your keyholder or dashboard rules can release the lock.Sleep Mode
Sleep mode puts your device into a low-power state, ideal for battery-only use. In sleep mode, the battery can last several days while continuing to track your lock timer without an internet connection.Important Reminders
Practice safe chastity:
- Know how your body responds and practice good hygiene to stay locked longer safely.
- Always have a backup release method in case you need urgent access to your key.
- The Lockbox has an emergency access port on the bottom that you can break open with a screwdriver in case of device failure or power loss. Replacement covers are available for purchase.
Unlocking Your Device
The device unlocks only when:- The timer expires, or
- Your keyholder unlocks it through the dashboard
Emergency Unlocking
Software Emergency Unlock
In an emergency, you can unlock the Lockbox by holding the lock button for 2 seconds and selecting Emergency Unlock.Hardware Emergency Unlock
If the device fails or loses power, you can physically unlock it using the access port on the back of the device. Troubleshooting
Wi-Fi Connection Issues
If you’re having trouble connecting:- Move closer to your router — Signal strength matters during initial setup.
- Verify your network is 2.4GHz — The Lockbox does not support 5GHz networks.
- Test your password — Try connecting another device to confirm your credentials are correct.
