Public voting lets you share an active lock session so others can vote to increase or decrease your remaining lock time. This introduces friendly unpredictability and community interaction while you stay in control of the rules.
Public voting only applies to active lock sessions. If your session ends or is abandoned, the public voting link becomes inactive.

How it works

  • You enable public voting for a specific active lock session.
  • Voters choose to increase or decrease your remaining time.
  • Each vote adjusts the timer by fixed amounts you configure.
  • You can disable public voting at any time.
Start with small, balanced increments (for example, +60 seconds and −60 seconds) to keep sessions engaging without extreme swings.

Enable public voting

1

Open your session or template settings

On the “Templates” part of the app, click “Edit” on an existing lockbox template, or click “New lockbox template”. For lockbox sessions that are already active, if you are the keyholder or if it is a test session, you can click “Modify settings” on that session in the “Home” page of the Chastity Lockbox part of the dashboard.
You should see a setting labeled “Public Voting” within the session or lockbox settings.
2

Enable the Public Voting option

Toggle on Public Voting for the active lock session.
Public voting affects your timer in real time. Make sure you are comfortable with the configured increments before enabling it.
3

Configure time values

Click on the cog icon next to the public voting toggle, and define how each vote changes your time:
  • Time Plus : Seconds added for an increase vote (👍)
  • Time Minus : Seconds removed for a decrease vote (👎)
  • By default, voters can reduce or increase your lock session’s duration without limits. If you would like public voting to only be permitted to increase or decrease the lock duration up until certain upper (max) and lower (min) limits, you can specify that in the “Maximum Lock Duration” and/or “Minimum Lock Duration” sections on this screen.
Time values are in seconds. Use whole numbers only.
Once public voting is enabled on an active session, a unique share link becomes available.
1

Open your lockbox page

Navigate to the lockbox page in your dashboard.
2

Find the Public Voting badge

Look for the Public Voting badge with a share icon.
3

Copy and share your link

Select the badge to copy your public voting link, then share it with friends, partners, or your community.
Open the link in a private/incognito window to confirm it loads the public voting view without exposing your account details.

View voting activity

You can track votes in two places.

Vote counter badges

On the lockbox page, counters appear next to session details when public voting is active or after receiving the first vote:
  • 👍 Thumbs Up: Total votes to increase time
  • 👎 Thumbs Down: Total votes to decrease time
Counters only display when public voting is enabled or at least one vote has been recorded for the session.

Activity history

For a detailed view of votes and other events:
  1. Open your lockbox page.
  2. Find the Session activity section.
  3. Select View more to open the full activity log.
Each vote event shows:
  • Icon : 👍 for increase, 👎 for decrease
  • Action : “Voted to increase time” or “Voted to decrease time”
  • Voter : Username (or “Anonymous” if the voter was not logged in)
  • Timestamp : When the vote was cast
Vote events appear alongside other session activities (locks, unlocks, breaks) in chronological order.

Voting restrictions

To reduce spam and abuse, the following limits apply:
  • Each person can vote once every 24 hours on a given session.
  • Votes are tracked by user account and by IP address.
If both an account and an IP are detected for the same person, the stricter limit is applied.

Privacy and anonymity

When someone votes while logged in, their username appears in your activity history.
When someone votes without logging in, they appear as “Anonymous” in your activity history.
Your public voting link shows session details necessary for voting but does not expose your account credentials or private profile information.

Points and rewards

Both you and voters earn points for participating in public voting.

You

Earn points when people vote on your session.

Voters

Earn points when they vote on sessions.
Point values decrease throughout the day as more votes are cast, which encourages early participation.

Tips for engagement

  • Share your link with communities that match your interests and boundaries.
  • Use balanced increments to keep the session fun and sustainable.
  • Check your activity history regularly to see who is supporting (or challenging) you.
  • Remember: votes apply immediately. Share responsibly.

Disable public voting

You can turn public voting off at any time.
1

Open session settings

Go to your active lock session settings.
2

Turn off Public Voting

Toggle off the Public Voting option.
The Public Voting badge and share link should no longer appear on the lockbox page.
Disabling public voting stops new votes from being accepted. Past vote events remain in your activity history.

Troubleshooting

Ensure you’re viewing an active lock session. The toggle only appears for active sessions.
Voters are limited to one vote per session every 24 hours. Ask them to try again after the cooldown period.
Lower the Time Plus/Time Minus values to more moderate increments.
