- Timed lock sessions
- Permanent locks
- Manual locking
- Locking from the web dashboard
Why this happens
Your Chastity Lockbox uses two hall effect sensors to detect small magnets embedded in the backplate. When these sensors cannot locate the magnets, the device assumes the backplate is missing and prevents the lock from engaging. This is a safety feature designed to prevent the device from locking without proper backplate attachment.
Common causes
- Missing backplate — The backplate is not attached to your Chastity Lockbox
- Misaligned backplate — The backplate is attached but not properly seated
- Debris or contamination — Dirt or residue is preventing proper contact
- Magnetic interference — Strong magnetic fields nearby are disrupting the sensors
- Hardware damage — The sensors or magnets may be damaged
How to fix this
1
Verify backplate attachment
Confirm the backplate is attached to your Chastity Lockbox. If missing, attach it and ensure it clicks firmly into place.
2
Reseat the backplate
Remove the backplate completely, then reattach it. Apply gentle pressure until you feel or hear it click into position.
3
Clean the connection area
Use a dry, lint-free cloth to gently clean both the backplate and the attachment area on the device. Remove any debris, dust, or residue that could interfere with sensor detection.
4
Eliminate magnetic interference
Move your Chastity Lockbox away from:
- Electronic devices
- Speakers or headphones
- Magnetic mounts or closures
- Other magnetic objects
5
Restart the device
Remove and reinsert the batteries (or disconnect and reconnect power) to reset the device. Attempt the locking operation again after restart.
6
Inspect for physical damage
Examine the backplate and attachment area for visible damage, cracks, or deformation. Check that the magnets in the backplate are intact and properly seated.
