Before you start: make sure your device is paired to your account and powered on. If you haven’t paired yet, see Step 2: Pair your Lockbox to your account.
Check the dashboard indicator
Use the dashboard to confirm your device is connected to your account and currently online.Confirm the device is paired
Sign in to the dashboard and go to Settings → Devices. Verify your Lockbox appears as paired.
You should see your Lockbox listed with its ID.
Find the online/offline indicator
Look for the connection indicator in the bottom-left corner of the page. When your device is online, the dashboard will show “Online”; when not connected, it will show “Offline”.
The dashboard status may take up to 60 seconds to update after your device connects. No page refresh is required—it syncs automatically.
Check the device display (real-time)
Your device display shows real-time connectivity and is the most accurate source of truth.Status indicator meanings
- Flashing yellow dot: connecting to the dashboard
- Solid green dot: online and connected
- Solid red dot: connected to Wi-Fi but no internet access (check your network)
- No dot visible: offline, or the device is asleep (wake it to check again)
About sleep modes: in Automatic Sleep the device may dim the screen but typically stays connected; in Deep Sleep Wi‑Fi is turned off until you wake the device.

Red dot next to Wi-Fi icon (no internet)
A red status indicator means your device is connected to Wi-Fi but cannot reach the internet. This is typically a network issue, not a device problem.Try these steps:
- Verify other devices on the same network can access the internet
- Restart your router and wait 2 minutes before reconnecting
- Try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network (such as a mobile hotspot)
- If using hotel, corporate, or public Wi-Fi, check if you need to complete a captive portal login

0:00 In this video I’ll answer the question, how do I know if my device is online? Here in the dashboard I’m logged into an account that has a lockbox paired to it.0:11 You can check this in the Settings/Devices page. I’ve gone to the Chastity Lockbox home page, where I can see this offline/online indicator.0:20 Right now, as you can see in the bottom left, my device is offline. Let me expand that, because it’s in sleep mode and not connected to the internet.0:31 What I’m going to do shortly is I’m going to turn on this device, and then I’m going to wait for Wi‑Fi to connect.0:37 And finally, I’ll watch the status indicator to determine if it’s connected to the dashboard. The status indicator is near the Wi‑Fi icon on the device display.0:48 It’s a little green or yellow flashing dot. Once that turns solid green, I will be both online and connected to the dashboard.0:58 Let’s go ahead and do that now. I’m going to power on my device, wake it up from sleep. You’ll see that Wi‑Fi is connected.1:06 And I have a yellow flashing dot which has just turned solid green. If I hang out here on the dashboard page for a second, it might take up to a minute for the dashboard to sync.1:18 No refresh is needed. However, you can refresh if you believe it’s required. Within approximately 30 seconds, this will change from offline to online.1:31 There it is. So if you see the green status indicator next to the Wi‑Fi icon, that means you are connected to the internet and also online, logged into the dashboard.1:44 Your device is ready to receive settings. You can also look at this indicator here, but because there’s a bit of lag on it, I would always trust the indicator on the device display.1:58 Trust this indicator. If it’s green, you’re connected. Enjoy.
