0:00 Now I'm going to show you how to pair with a user on your account. On the left hand side, I have the account that I've just registered, which is in the onboarding flow. 0:09 And on the right hand side, I have the inbox for somebody who's not on our dashboard, who you'd like to invite. 0:14 So I'm just going to complete the onboarding flow over here. I'm going to state that I'm over the age of 21, and I'm going to agree to receive marketing emails. 0:21 Don't worry, you can change this later if you decide you do not want them. I'm going to choose a fun username, in this case thematic_voyeur_63, and then I'm going to create an invitation. 0:34 At this stage, I can either enter the name of a partner that I already know on the dashboard, so I'll use their username in this case. 0:42 Or, if they're not on the dashboard, I'll enter their entire email address. The next step is that I have to determine what kind of access I want to give them. 0:58 If I want to give them access to my devices, then that means I am a bottom, or a user, of our devices, and I would like them to have access to the things that I'll be doing. 1:11 if they are a bottom and have devices, then I want to request access to their devices. In our system, the person with the devices is typically the bottom. 1:22 We don't generally use that phrase, since we know that the King community is very broad, and bottom does not capture the breadth of everything you're doing here on our product. 1:31 However, for clarity, in this flow, it might make sense to think of the person using the devices day in and day out as the one who's registering them. 1:42 Anyway, let's go ahead and give this individual access to my devices. All right, an invitation has been sent. I'll look at the right-hand side here. 1:57 Perfect. I have an invitation to share devices. So a user would like to share devices with you on the dashboard and ask that I create an account. 2:07 When this partner looks over here, they will see that a user has invited them to play. Wonderful. I'll have to register now on this right-hand side. 2:19 We'll go ahead and do that. This new account will have to confirm its email address. 2:39 And then go through the onboarding flow, choosing a username, and you can see right here there's an invite waiting for me from the user on the left. 3:01 There might not be a username at this stage. If this person on the left has not completed the onboarding flow, that's all right. 3:08 For the time being, I'm going to choose to accept. Perfect. I can now control and modify this user's devices. We're all done.

The device sharing feature lets you collaborate with trusted partners, giving them the ability to control your devices or request access to theirs. This creates a secure connection between users while maintaining privacy and control.

Creating a New Share Request

Navigate to your Settings page and find the Partners section. When you're ready to connect with someone, click the "Create Invitation" button in the top right corner. You'll be asked to enter their email or username, and choose whether you want to give them access to your devices or request access to theirs.

For privacy and security reasons, we won't confirm whether the user exists in our system. Make sure you have the correct spelling of their email or username to ensure the invitation reaches them.

Managing Your Connections

Once you've established connections with partners, you'll see them listed in your Partners section. Each connection shows a helpful indicator of the relationship:

An upward arrow (↗️) means you've given them control of your devices; in the example of a Top and a Bottom, this would mean that your account is the "Bottom".

A downward arrow (↙️) shows they've given you access to their devices. in the example of a Top an a Bottom, this would mean that you account is the "Top".

A two-way arrow (↔️) indicates mutual sharing; in this is the example where both partners are switching with each other, and you can read more about that here:

How to set up a switch acount

You can manage these connections at any time through the menu next to each partner's name. If you need to end a sharing arrangement, simply select "Remove Partner" from this menu.

Responding to Invitations

When someone invites you to share device access, you'll receive both an email notification and see the invitation in your Settings page under "Pending Invitations". Take your time to review the request - you can accept it to establish the connection, or decline if you're not comfortable with the sharing arrangement.

Best Practices

Device sharing works best when built on trust and clear communication. Before sharing access, make sure you know and trust the person you're connecting with. Remember that you maintain control of your sharing preferences and can adjust or remove access whenever needed.
